Frequently asked questions
1: How can I make donations?
You can make a donation by clicking on the "Donation" button on any page of this web site or you can donate direct from your salary or wage. This method is tax deductible as payments made are from gross earnings and are offset against the tax you pay. This type of payment can be set up through "Give As You Earn" who will ensure that your payments are registered with the Inland Revenue. It takes about two weeks to register because your registration forms have to be sent to the Inland Revenue to make deductions tax-effective.
Example: If you donate £10 per month the cost to you is £7.80, but the charity will receive the full £10.
2: How do I set up donations from my salary?
The two most popular ways are:
- Direct Donation. Tax-free donations straight from your gross pay. Simply name RaceGuard as the charity you wish to receive your donations.
- Staff Charity Fund. Club together with colleagues and set up a joint fund for your "Give As You Earn" donations. Simply name RaceGuard as the charity you wish to recieve your donations.
3: What is "Matched Giving"?
If your employers are registered with "Give As You Earn" ask them about Matched Giving. Using this method, every pound you donate will be matched by your employer.
4: Is my employer registered with "Give As You Earn"?
